Women of Light of Christ
The mission statement of Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and Light of Christ is:
As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, society and the world.
The Women of Light of Christ live up to this mission statement by making and donating quilts, serving at funerals in the church, donating supplies for school kits, hosting annual birthday parties at the local nursing home, serving an annual Lenten supper, overseeing the church kitchen, and providing countless hours of service and support where needed in the church and community. |
