Lessons & Carols Worship Services at 8:15 & 10:45 am
The future Archbishop of Canterbury, Edward White Benson, devised the first Lessons and Carols service for Truro Cathedral in Cornwall in 1880. Since then it has become a very popular service around the world. One of the most famous is the service from Kings College, Cambridge on Christmas Eve. The service has seven lessons which are followed by music. The lessons tell about the fall of humanity, the foretelling of Christ’s birth by the prophets and the birth of Jesus.
