Serve in Worship
Assist by handing out bulletins with a warm welcome to everyone attending. Ushers will help find seating as needed, distribute offering plates and direct the congregation through communion. Ushers have responsibility for a quick "straightening" of the sanctuary. A complete usher's training manual is available. Sign up for a Sunday here.
Help distribute Holy Communion together with the Council Representative and the Pastor. The assistant will give the wine or bread saying to each person communing "The blood of Christ shed for you" or "The body of Christ given for you". Sign up for a Sunday here.
Arrive 30 minutes prior to start of worship to open doors and greet members and guests as they arrive for service. Sign up for a Sunday here.
Read 1st and/or 2nd lesson(s) during worship service. Lessons are available prior to Sunday to allow for preparation before assigned service. Sign up for a Sunday here.
Arrive 30 minutes prior to the service to activate microphones and adjust sound levels during worship. Ring the bell at start of service and advance PowerPoint slides when used during worship. Onsite training and training manual are available. Sign up for a Sunday here.
Altar Guild prepares the Holy Communion materials for each worship service. Sign up for a Sunday here.
Arrive 10 minutes before worship. Put on white robe and assist in worship by lighting candles, collecting offering plates, and holding basket during communion. Confirmation students (7th-9th graders) are expected to acolyte 4 times a year. Sign up for a Sunday here.
