OWLS
OWLS (Older Wiser Lutherans!)
If you’re looking for a group to join with friendship, faith and fun in mind, this group is for you! We are mostly retired or semi-retired folks, age 55+. OWlS meet monthly, except summer months, on the third Thursday around noon or 1:00 PM, depending on the event.
In Spring and Fall we love to go on outings such as to Big Stone Mini Golf, Hemker Zoo, Annandale Art and Textile, or for a BBQ and games at Bill and Sue Fink’s hobby farm. During cold, snowy winter months we tend to stick to gatherings at church in the Living Room. In the past we have done themed parties for Halloween, Christmas with white elephant gift exchange, potluck lunches, casserole and soup cook-off events, pizza parties and games.
Out of the OWLS group has evolved a Bible study group which meets on Sundays after worship for a couple of sessions each year. Watch for info coming for Fall and Spring studies.
Another subgroup of OWLS is the LOC-O-Motion Coffee and Cleaning Crew, a group that meets the second Friday of each month at 9:30 AM at church, to tend to cleaning areas of our church home that are not on the hired cleaner contract, mainly the east wing classrooms.
