Outreach Opportunities

The Light of Christ Mission/Evangelism Committee would like to continue to promote monetary donations to the Food Shelf (they currently are not taking food donations) and monetary donations for the Sr. Center Meal Program. We are hoping that people will still donate for these much-needed programs in the days ahead.

Food Shelf Pack-the-Pews Campaign –  As of Sunday, March 22, Delano Helping Hands Food Shelf discontinued accepting public food donations.  In alignment with federal and state guidelines, they need to follow extra sanitizing measures to assure that all their products are safe. So for our Pack-the-Pews Campaign we are still asking that you would consider sending any monetary donations that you can to help those facing food insecurity in the uncertain days ahead. Your generosity will be most appreciated.

Free Meals for Seniors 60+ Wright County Community Action and the Delano Senior Center are working together to provide Wright County seniors (age 60 plus) ten frozen meals each, delivered to their door. Meals are going out this week, and we plan to continue this program as long as is needed during this crisis. If you know of any seniors who could benefit from this program, please have them call 763-972-0574 or e-mail senior@delano.mn.us to sign up, or contact the senior center, and staff or volunteers will get in touch with the seniors. They are also in need of temporary freezer space, preferably walk-in. Please call Terri Harris at 763-742-3113 if you have available space.  Please send any designated monetary donations you can to help support this program.
